SANFORD, NC—Central Electric Membership Corporation is once again sponsoring scholarships for students at two local community colleges.
 
Students currently attending or planning to attend Central Carolina Community College or Sandhills Community College can apply for one of five $2,000 grants from CEMC.

 
Applicants must be members of Central Electric, or reside with parents who are members. A minimum grade point average of 2.5 is required.
 
Criteria for selection includes: scholastic achievement, extracurricular activities, a personal interview and financial need.
The deadline for Sandhills Community College applications is February 29. Central Carolina Community College applications must be received by May 1.
 
Applications for both scholarships may be downloaded from a link on the Cooperative’s website at: www.centralelectriconline.com. Click on Member Services, then Good Neighbor Programs. The address for mailing is located on each school’s application.
